PSG Target Yan Diomandé, Ivorian Winger from RB Leipzig Open to Transfer
Paris Saint-Germain has opened discussions with RB Leipzig to sign 20-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé, who has scored 13 goals this season. The player has publicly expressed his attraction to the Parisian club.
Paris Saint-Germain has initiated contact with RB Leipzig regarding a transfer of Yan Diomandé during the summer transfer window. Meetings between the two clubs’ executives have already taken place over the Ivorian international’s file.
From the player’s perspective, interest is clearly stated. On the sidelines of a friendly match between France and Côte d’Ivoire, Diomandé said in a press conference: “It’s a team I’ve loved since I was young. I believe my father was a PSG supporter. It’s a team I admire.” A statement that leaves little doubt about his personal desires.
The winger fits PSG’s current recruitment policy, oriented toward high-potential profiles rather than established stars. Journalist Bertrand Latour summed up the fit: “We know PSG will probably look for a winger and this player is capable of playing on the flanks. I think he fits their sporting policy, which is different from a stars policy. It would be a very good signing.”
Yan Diomandé’s trajectory is particularly rapid. Trained at the DME Academy in Florida, he came to prominence at CD Leganés in Spain during 2025, before joining RB Leipzig for 20 million euros a few months later. During the season just concluded, the Abidjan native scored 13 goals in the German club’s colors, confirming the expectations placed on him at the time of his recruitment.
