Jiri Prochazka has moved to quash speculation linking him to an interim UFC light heavyweight title fight against Paulo Costa, stating on Instagram that no bout has been officially agreed. UFC 332, scheduled for October 3 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, remains without a confirmed main event.

The rumours emerged after reigning light heavyweight champion Carlos Ulberg suffered an ACL injury during his UFC 327 title defence against Prochazka — a fight Ulberg won by first-round knockout. With Ulberg expected to be sidelined until next year, the UFC is widely expected to stage an interim title bout to keep the division moving, and Prochazka’s name has been the most prominent in that conversation.

The Czech fighter addressed the speculation directly in an Instagram post, urging fans not to take unverified reports at face value. “Just don’t believe to every bullsh*t on internet,” Prochazka wrote. “Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that.”

Despite the uncertainty over his next opponent, Prochazka indicated he is deep into a training block and approaching his preparation with renewed focus. “I want my preparation to be truly thorough — to break everything down — and to start from the roots that have long been a part of me,” he wrote. “There are still levels that can be reached, and right now I am very grateful to see them clearly.”

Prochazka’s loss to Ulberg at UFC 327 was his second defeat in his last three outings, having previously relinquished the light heavyweight title through injury. A win in an interim title fight would represent a significant step back toward the championship, but for now the former champion is making clear that nothing is signed.

With UFC 332 still lacking a headliner and Prochazka vs. Costa the most discussed option in MMA circles, the promotion will be under pressure to finalise the card ahead of the October date.
