Premier League 2026 summer window closes with Man City and Spurs among deadline day movers

The 2026 Premier League summer transfer window closed on Tuesday, ending a frantic deadline day that saw Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and several other clubs finalise last-minute business.

Every top-flight club made additions this summer, with a number breaking their transfer records. The window produced a string of eye-catching deals across the division, from blockbuster fees to high-profile free transfers.

Arsenal brought in Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen for £34.5m, Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle for £75m, Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for £51m, Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34m, and Illan Meslier on a free from Leeds. Departures included Leandro Trossard (Besiktas, £17m), Gabriel Jesus (Barcelona), and Fabio Vieira (Hamburg, £8.5m).

Aston Villa were among the busiest clubs, spending £65m on Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea and £34m on Joao Gomes from Wolves, while also landing Leon Goretzka on a free from Bayern Munich and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan from West Ham. Their most significant outgoing was Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea for £117m, while Ollie Watkins departed for Al-Hilal and Youri Tielemans moved to Manchester United for £35m.

Bournemouth strengthened their defensive options with the £26m signing of Antonio Silva from Benfica and added Michele Di Gregorio on loan from Juventus. Marcos Senesi left for Tottenham on a free transfer.

Brentford added Callum Wilson on a free from West Ham and brought in Jaidon Anthony from Burnley, while Jannik Schuster arrived from RB Salzburg.

The window’s scale underlines the continued financial ambition across the Premier League, with clubs at every level of the table committing significant resources to reshape their squads ahead of the new season.
