Postecoglou, Hayes and Wright-Phillips join Woods for Canada vs Qatar at World Cup 2026
Laura Woods leads ITV's studio coverage of Canada vs Qatar at World Cup 2026, joined by former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, USA Women's coach Emma Hayes, and ex-Manchester City forward Bradley Wright-Phillips. Seb Hutchinson and Andros Townsend are on commentary.
Laura Woods fronts ITV’s broadcast team for Canada vs Qatar at World Cup 2026, with Ange Postecoglou, Emma Hayes, and Bradley Wright-Phillips completing the studio panel for what is a pivotal Group Stage fixture for both sides.
Postecoglou, sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last season, has been recruited as part of ITV’s punditry lineup for the tournament. He is joined in the studio by Hayes, the current United States Women’s National Team manager, who has drawn praise during the competition for her tactical breakdowns — including brief analysis segments during the tournament’s hydration breaks. Wright-Phillips, a former Manchester City player who also represented New York Red Bulls and Los Angeles FC in MLS, rounds out the panel alongside his father Ian Wright, who is also part of ITV’s wider coverage team.
On commentary, Seb Hutchinson calls the game from the stadium gantry, partnered by former Crystal Palace and Luton Town winger Andros Townsend. The pair have already worked several matches together during the tournament.
The match carries significant weight for both nations. Canada are still searching for their first ever World Cup win, while Qatar — making their second consecutive World Cup appearance — are also looking to build on their opening result. Three points for either side would represent a major stride toward the knockout rounds.
