Mike Perry will fight Brandon Jenkins in the main event of Dual Arena 1 at the Kia Center in Orlando on Saturday night, after original opponent Dillon Danis withdrew from the card citing injury shortly before Thursday’s pre-fight press conference.

Perry, who was set to face Misfits champion and combat sports provocateur Danis in the headline bout of Dual Arena’s first MMA event, made clear at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins that the change of opponent had done nothing to dampen his intensity.

“I told him he shouldn’t have came,” Perry said of Jenkins during their faceoff. “But the people, they need the blood sacrifice, so we’ve got to feed them the blood sacrifice. He’s a big guy. I’ve got a lot of energy, and I worked so fcking hard for this. That pussy ain’t come, and I’ve gotta fcking knock [Jenkins] out!”

Jenkins, for his part, appeared relaxed and in good spirits during the faceoff — smiling throughout and even faking a kiss toward Perry’s fist during their final pose. The UFC and PFL veteran framed the last-minute opportunity as one he intends to seize.

“Mike gave me a chance to be great, so I’m gonna take it,” Jenkins said. “I think everybody should fight like that. I’m gonna go out there and try to be as violent or more violent than him, so you guys are in for a treat.”

Jenkins last competed this past summer, earning a split decision victory over Chris Avila at MVP’s Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano event. He steps in on short notice knowing a win over Perry — one of the most recognisable names on the independent MMA circuit — would represent a significant career moment.

Danis had been the marquee draw for the event, his involvement guaranteeing attention given his history as a social media lightning rod and his ties to the Misfits boxing scene. His withdrawal leaves questions about whether he will compete at all in the near term, though no further details about his alleged injury have been disclosed.

Dual Arena 1 marks the promotional debut of the new organisation, and despite the main event reshuffle, Perry’s presence ensures the card retains a headline act capable of delivering on his promises.
