Pauleta, Matuidi, Pastore: Five PSG Legends Share Their Wellness Rituals

Pedro Pauleta, Nenê, Blaise Matuidi, Grégory van der Wiel and Javier Pastore have agreed to share their wellness routines as part of a program called “The Long Game,” deployed across seven hotel establishments around the world. Each of the five former PSG players contributes their personal input, spanning nutrition, sleep and recovery.

Greg van der Wiel focused on sleep quality, a subject that occupied him throughout his career. The Dutch defender designed blue-light blocking glasses intended to preserve melatonin production, and recommends writing positive thoughts in a notebook before sleep — a habit he developed through his time in five different countries.

Pedro Pauleta, the fifth-best goalscorer in Paris club history, created three energizing breakfast recipes, with a prominent place for detox juices. Javier Pastore joined him on the nutrition front, while Nenê designed five physical exercise sessions for progressive muscle awakening. Blaise Matuidi, 2018 World Cup champion, highlighted time spent with family playing board games — a card game and a board game now bear his name.

Some of these items — Van der Wiel’s glasses and notebook, Matuidi’s games — are made available to guests in the rooms of several participating establishments. The seven hotels involved are located in Paris, Madrid, Abidjan, Xiamen, Jakarta, Bangkok and Rio de Janeiro. Each has a fitness room offering the sessions designed by Nenê.
