Onana escapes injury after car crash following Trabzonspor's Conference League win
Manchester United loanee Andre Onana was taken to hospital after his car was rear-ended in Turkey following Trabzonspor's 2-0 Conference League victory over Hearts. The goalkeeper was discharged after checks returned clear.
Andre Onana was involved in a road traffic accident in Turkey on Thursday evening but was discharged from hospital after medical checks returned clear, Trabzonspor confirmed.
The on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper was rear-ended by a vehicle following Trabzonspor’s 2-0 UEFA Conference League victory over Hearts. Images from the scene showed debris consistent with a multi-car collision, with Onana’s vehicle reportedly pushed into the car ahead on impact.
Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan moved quickly to reassure supporters. “Andre Onana was involved in a road traffic accident earlier this evening,” Dogan told local media. “There are no problems with him, and we wish him a speedy recovery.”
Onana is in the second spell of his loan at the Turkish club, who have made a strong start to the campaign across both domestic and European competition. The 2-0 win over Hearts followed a 4-2 victory over Finnish side KuPs, with the goalkeeper starting every game so far this season.
