Michael Olise left the Klassiker between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund limping on Saturday, joining Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry on the injury list from an evening that concluded with a particularly costly 2-2 draw for the Bavarians.

Sporting director Max Eberl made no attempt to hide his pessimism regarding Saibari and Gnabry at the final whistle. “The injuries to both appear to be somewhat serious, although I cannot give a prognosis or diagnosis at this stage. Both seem more serious. As a result, today came at a very, very heavy cost,” he said.

On Olise’s case, the German executive was more measured without entirely ruling out risk. “Regarding Olise, for now, our feeling is that it is not so serious, but it is difficult to say with certainty with the adrenaline still flowing after a match like this one. We will have to wait and see,” he added.

The French international’s demeanor upon leaving the stadium did little to dispel concerns. Spotted limping through the corridors, the former Crystal Palace player ignored a journalist’s question seeking an update on his physical condition, continuing on without responding.

Medical examinations scheduled in the coming hours will determine the exact nature of the three injuries and any periods of unavailability. The fixture schedule makes the situation particularly sensitive: Zinédine Zidane is set to announce his squad on November 6 for the next international break, and Olise was among the natural candidates for a France call-up.
