Neymar ruled out against Haiti, Scotland return uncertain
Already absent from Brazil's 1-1 draw with Morocco, Neymar will not be fit in time for Brazil's second World Cup 2026 match against Haiti. His participation against Scotland on June 25 remains in doubt.
Neymar will miss a second consecutive match at the 2026 World Cup: the Brazilian federation (CBF) has confirmed that the 34-year-old striker will not be fit to face Haiti in the night of Friday to Saturday in Philadelphia.
Injured in the calf before the tournament began, the Santos star has resumed collective training and reportedly feels no pain. Despite these encouraging signs, the Seleção staff chose to take no risks and will keep “Ney” out of the trip to Pennsylvania. He will remain at Columbia Park in New Jersey to make the most of the training facilities at the Brazilian base camp.
His absence weighs all the more as Brazil disappointed in their opening match in Group C, held to a 1-1 draw by Morocco. A poor performance that left the auriverde supporters wanting and puts the Seleção under pressure ahead of two matches that promise to be decisive for the rest of the competition.
The big question now is whether Neymar will be fit for the third and final group match against Scotland, scheduled for June 25. No official return date has been communicated by the CBF, and the Brazilian medical staff continues to manage the situation day by day.
