Netflix is reportedly developing an untitled documentary on UFC CEO Dana White, with a premiere targeted for the first quarter of 2027, according to Page Six.

Gotham Chopra, whose previous sports documentary work includes films on Tom Brady and LeBron James, is attached to direct the project. Chopra has not publicly commented on the reported production, and no official title or release date has been announced.

The documentary is said to have begun life as a broader film about Las Vegas before shifting focus to White and his central role in building the UFC into a global combat sports brand. According to reports, Netflix greenlit the project as a companion piece while the streamer was pursuing the UFC’s media rights — a deal that ultimately went elsewhere. Paramount secured the U.S. broadcast rights in a seven-year agreement worth $7.7 billion.

The film is expected to cover White’s involvement in the UFC’s acquisition by Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta in the early 2000s, as well as the promotion’s eventual sale to an Endeavor-led group in a deal that valued the organisation at $4 billion.

More recent events could also feature in the documentary. UFC Freedom 250, held on the White House South Lawn, and the launch of Zuffa Boxing — White’s new promotional venture developed in partnership with Saudi official Turki Alalshikh — are both cited as potential material for the production.

The reported project adds White to a growing list of major sports figures to receive the documentary treatment on Netflix, as the platform continues to expand its live and original sports content portfolio.
