Scott McTominay arrived at the 2026 World Cup in the United States as one of Scotland’s most important players, having guided his country to their first major tournament in 28 years with two goals and an assist during qualification. The Napoli midfielder’s partner, Cam Reading, has followed him every step of the way — and earned her own nickname in the process: the ‘Queen of Italy’.

McTominay’s relationship with Reading dates back to 2020, during his time at Manchester United, though the couple kept things private until 2022 when she was spotted in the stands at Old Trafford. Since his move to Napoli, Reading has become a regular presence at his side, sharing glimpses of their life in Italy on social media.

The pair were pictured together in Ibiza ahead of the tournament, joined by friends on a summer break before Scotland’s campaign began. Reading also attended the Gran Gala del Calcio awards ceremony, where McTominay claimed two honours — including Serie A Player of the Year — for a season in which he scored 13 goals and registered six assists as Napoli challenged for the league title and won the Italian Super Cup.

In an Instagram post following the ceremony, Reading wrote: “Gran Gala del Calcio. Scott walked away with two awards, and I walked away even prouder of the man he is… dedicated, hardworking and always striving for more. Ti amo.”

McTominay was also named Scotland’s Player of the Year before departing for the United States. Scotland opened their World Cup campaign with a win over Haiti in Boston, and now face Morocco on Friday night with a place in the knockout stages within reach. The 29-year-old registered 18 goal contributions across his club season and will be central to Scotland’s hopes of advancing further than any Scottish side has managed in a generation.
