Mary Earps set to leave PSG and return to WSL with London City Lionesses
Mary Earps will depart Paris Saint-Germain when her contract expires on 30 June, the French club has confirmed. The 33-year-old England goalkeeper is understood to be closing in on a move to London City Lionesses.
Mary Earps is leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with the French club confirming the 33-year-old goalkeeper’s exit when her contract expires on 30 June. The former England international is understood to be nearing a return to the Women’s Super League, with London City Lionesses her likely destination.
Earps joined PSG from Manchester United in the summer of 2024 and made 57 appearances across two seasons, helping the club finish third in the Premiere Ligue last season. London City Lionesses, owned by American billionaire Michele Kang, finished sixth in their debut WSL campaign and would represent a significant addition to their squad.
In a farewell video posted on PSG’s social media, Earps reflected warmly on her time in the French capital. “A crazy, great experience,” she said. “I’d say great because I’m leaving with such fond memories. I’ve met great people, I’ve trained at a world class facility, I’ve played at Parc des Princes. And experience because I think it’s added to my growth as a player and as a person.”
She also highlighted the personal milestones the move brought. “I’ve had a lot of firsts as well. Off-the-pitch I’ve had a lot of big moments here in Paris. A lot of experiences which I’ll remember forever. I’m leaving with my heart full and I’m so happy, privileged and lucky that I was able to have such a wonderful experience here.”
Before moving to France, Earps spent five years at Manchester United, where she was part of the side that won the Women’s FA Cup — the club’s first major trophy. On the international stage, she was a key figure in England’s Euro 2022 triumph and their run to the 2023 World Cup final, earning 53 caps before announcing her international retirement ahead of England’s Euro 2025 defence last summer.
