Manchester United send midfielder Jack Moorhouse to Dundee on deadline-day loan
Manchester United have agreed a loan deal to send 20-year-old midfielder Jack Moorhouse to Scottish Premiership side Dundee on deadline day, with the club fending off interest from several English Football League clubs to secure the youngster.
Manchester United have agreed a deadline-day loan deal to send midfielder Jack Moorhouse to Scottish side Dundee, with the move expected to be completed before the 11pm transfer window close.
Dundee beat off competition from Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town and Stockport County to land Moorhouse, according to the Daily Mail, which described the 20-year-old as attracting “huge demand all summer long”.
Moorhouse arrives in Scotland having spent last season on loan at Leyton Orient, where he made 20 League One appearances and contributed one assist. He has also accumulated 29 appearances for United’s development squad, registering six goals and five assists across those outings.
The move continues a pattern of United’s younger players heading north of the border for first-team experience. Winger Ethan Williams spent last season with Falkirk, while Jacob Devaney is currently on loan at Hibernian after previously impressing with St Mirren.
Moorhouse had been omitted from United’s Premier League 2 squad for both fixtures so far this season, underlining the need for regular game time away from Old Trafford.
He may not be the only United youngster to depart before the window shuts. Young left-back Harry Amass is also understood to be available for a loan move. United held talks with Championship club Burnley over a potential deal for Amass, but those negotiations appear to have broken down, with Championship interest still expected before the deadline.
