Manchester United seal all-European pre-season as AC Milan clash confirmed for Wroclaw finale
Manchester United will face AC Milan in Wroclaw, Poland on August 15 to close out a six-game pre-season schedule played entirely in Europe — the first time the club have stayed on the continent for a full summer tour since 2002.
Manchester United will conclude their 2025 pre-season with a friendly against AC Milan at the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland on August 15, the club officially confirmed on Tuesday.
Director of football Jason Wilcox welcomed the announcement, saying the club are “excited” to wrap up their tour with “a big game against AC Milan” and that the six-fixture schedule — spanning five countries — would provide “strong preparation for the 2026/27 season and a valuable opportunity to connect with our incredible fans across Europe.”
The Milan match is the final stop on an all-European pre-season itinerary that also includes games against Wrexham in Helsinki, Rosenborg in Trondheim, Atletico Madrid in Stockholm, PSG in Gothenburg, and Leeds in Dublin. It marks the first time United have confined their entire pre-season to Europe since 2002, excluding the pandemic-affected summers of 2020 and 2021. The decision to stay closer to home is partly designed to limit the air miles accumulated by a squad that has already had a demanding schedule.
Michael Carrick will take charge of his first pre-season as permanent United manager, having been appointed last month. However, the squad he has available will be significantly depleted, with around a dozen senior players away on international duty at the World Cup this summer. That absence opens the door for academy prospects to stake a claim across the six friendlies.
United’s full pre-season schedule is as follows: Wrexham in Helsinki on July 18; Rosenborg in Trondheim on July 24; Atletico Madrid in Stockholm on August 1; PSG in Gothenburg on August 8; Leeds in Dublin on August 12; and AC Milan in Wroclaw on August 15.
