Manchester United close in on £10m Leicester teenager Louis Page on deadline day

Manchester United are closing in on a deadline-day move for Leicester City teenager Louis Page, with talks between the two clubs advancing quickly on a deal worth more than £10m.

Page, 18, established himself as one of the more eye-catching young midfielders in the Championship last season, even as Leicester were relegated from the second tier. His performances were enough to attract serious interest from Old Trafford, and a move now appears imminent before the transfer window shuts.

It remains unclear whether Page will be included in Leicester’s League One squad for their fixture against Plymouth at the King Power Stadium, with his future potentially being resolved before kick-off.

The England youth international has represented his country at under-17, under-18 and under-20 level, and is the son of former professional footballer Don Page.

The move would represent another significant midfield addition for United, who have already brought in Carlos Baleba, Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos this summer under manager Michael Carrick. Page would add a younger, developmental option to a group that has been substantially reshaped since the end of last season.

Leicester, now operating in League One following their Championship relegation, would recoup a meaningful fee for a player who came through their academy and had yet to make a senior appearance before his breakthrough campaign.
