Manchester United add Everton's Iliman Ndiaye to left-winger shortlist alongside Rogers
Manchester United are monitoring Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye as a potential summer signing, with the 26-year-old Senegalese international considered a more affordable option than Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers or RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande.
Manchester United have added Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye to their summer transfer shortlist as manager Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his attacking options on the left flank. The club have not yet made a formal approach for the 26-year-old Senegal international, but he is being monitored at Old Trafford ahead of what is expected to be an active window.
The urgency to sign a left-winger has eased since earlier in the season, with Patrick Dorgu’s emergence in the role and Matheus Cunha’s performances there giving Carrick greater flexibility. Nevertheless, the position remains on United’s radar, and Ndiaye’s ability to operate off either wing as well as in a No.10 role makes him an attractive option.
Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille for £15 million two years ago and has scored 17 goals and registered three assists in 71 appearances for the club. Everton hold a strong negotiating position — he has three years remaining on his contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium — but reports suggest he has turned down offers of a new deal, potentially making this summer an opportune moment for the club to sell at a profit.
United had previously shown interest in RB Leipzig teenager Yan Diomande, but Liverpool are now leading the pursuit of the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, with Leipzig valuing him at £86 million. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, 23, is another name on United’s radar. The England international can play off the left and is also viewed as a potential long-term successor to Bruno Fernandes in the No.10 position. However, United would face significant competition for Rogers, with several Premier League clubs and European sides tracking his situation should Villa choose to sell to fund a rebuild.
Ndiaye is seen as a more cost-effective route into the left-wing market, though United will still need to balance the books carefully. The club has several other transfer priorities this window, including at least one and possibly two midfielders following the agreed signing of Ederson from Atalanta in a deal worth up to £38.3 million. A left-back is also required after Tyrell Malacia’s departure on a free transfer, with Luke Shaw having started every Premier League game last season.
United have recently moved on several wide forwards, with Antony leaving in 2025 and Jadon Sancho departing this summer. The club is also seeking to remove Marcus Rashford’s £325,000-a-week wages from the payroll, further shaping the scope of their attacking rebuild under Carrick.
