Man City face Inter Milan rematch and Atletico Madrid in Asia pre-season tour
Manchester City have confirmed a three-game Asia tour this summer, beginning with a Hong Kong rematch against Inter Milan on 1 August before facing a Korean League representative side and Atletico Madrid in Seoul.
Manchester City will open their pre-season with a three-fixture Asia tour before returning to the UK for the Community Shield, the club has confirmed ahead of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
City’s summer schedule begins in Hong Kong on Saturday, 1 August, when they face Inter Milan at the Kai Tak Stadium — a repeat of the 2023 Champions League final, which City won 1-0 to complete a historic treble. The match kicks off at 12:30pm UK time.
From Hong Kong, City travel to Seoul, where they will take on a representative side from the Korean League at the World Cup Stadium on Wednesday, 5 August. A kick-off time is yet to be confirmed. They remain in South Korea to face Atletico Madrid on Sunday, 9 August, with that kick-off time also still to be announced.
The tour concludes before City return to the UK for the Community Shield on Sunday, 16 August. The Blues will meet Arsenal at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium — standing in for Wembley, which is unavailable due to a concert — with kick-off set for 3pm.
City then open their Premier League season at home for the first time on an opening day in a decade when Bournemouth visit the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 23 August, with a 2pm kick-off.
New head coach Enzo Maresca will oversee the pre-season programme, though his squad is expected to be thin initially. City have 17 players at the Club World Cup, and Maresca will determine when each returns to training ahead of the new campaign.
