Liverpool are tracking two wide forwards this summer as Andoni Iraola begins rebuilding a squad depleted by the exits of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate. The former Bournemouth manager, confirmed as Arne Slot’s replacement, has already secured centre-back Jeremy Jacquet but is expected to pursue further additions.

Barcola open to PSG exit

Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has told the club he wants to leave this summer, according to reports, with Liverpool and Arsenal both credited with interest in the 23-year-old Frenchman. Barcola scored 13 goals across all competitions last season but found himself on the bench for PSG’s Champions League quarter-final, semi-final, and final victories — a run of matches that appears to have accelerated his desire for a fresh start.

His opportunities narrowed further after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia arrived from Napoli in January 2025. PSG are not expected to sell cheaply, with a fee of around £60m reported as the likely asking price. Barcola is part of France’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Rayan already known to Iraola

Bournemouth winger Rayan is also on Liverpool’s radar, a link that carries particular weight given the 19-year-old spent the second half of last season working under Iraola at the Vitality Stadium. The Brazilian delivered five goals and two assists in his first 15 Premier League appearances, form that earned him a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil World Cup squad. He marked his senior international debut with a goal in a warm-up friendly against Panama.

Rayan holds a reported £130m release clause at Bournemouth, though whether the club would insist on that figure in negotiations remains unclear.

Gaps to fill at Anfield

The urgency behind Liverpool’s wide-forward search is clear. Salah departs after nine years on Merseyside, leaving a significant void on the right flank. Robertson, meanwhile, has joined Tottenham in a confirmed Premier League switch. Federico Chiesa’s future also remains uncertain, meaning Iraola could potentially need two attacking additions before the new season begins.

With Rayan already familiar with the manager’s methods and Barcola signalling his intent to move on from Paris, Liverpool appear well-positioned to act quickly on at least one of the two targets.
