Leipzig rejected a €100 million offer, including bonuses, from Liverpool to secure the services of Yan Diomandé. The information, revealed by Fabrizio Romano following the Ivory Coast – Germany match (2-1), sets the tone for a deal that promises to reach nine figures.

The 22-year-old Ivorian winger once again impressed during this American-Canadian World Cup, troubling the German defence and notably Joshua Kimmich. It was one of his crosses that allowed Franck Kessié to score the winning goal for the Elephants against the Mannschaft.

PSG, regularly cited among interested clubs, now knows what to expect: they will need to submit an offer exceeding €100 million, a threshold the Paris club has not crossed since the simultaneous arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. Competition is fierce: besides Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are also in the running.

Even before the tournament kicked off, Diomandé was already in the sights of Europe’s top clubs. His performances in the United States and Canada have only accelerated the bidding war and complicated the financial equation for all his suitors.
