Left out of World Cup, Camavinga pursues Harvard Business School program while France departs
Excluded from Didier Deschamps' 2026 World Cup squad, Eduardo Camavinga crossed the Atlantic for a different reason: a program dedicated to sport and entertainment at Harvard Business School.
Eduardo Camavinga will not go to the 2026 World Cup with France, but he made the trip to the United States anyway. The Real Madrid midfielder, 23, has spent the past few days following a program dedicated to the sport and entertainment sectors at Harvard Business School in Boston.
On Saturday, the player shared several photos from his stay on Instagram with this message: “A few days of learning, listening and growth. Grateful for this experience at Harvard Business School.” The university is located just a few kilometers from the base camp that the France team will occupy during the tournament, though the paths of the two parties will not cross.
France, currently in France, must leave the Paris region to join Lille, where they will face Northern Ireland on Monday in a warm-up match, before flying to Boston. Camavinga will not be part of the official trip.
Absent from the list of 26 players selected by Didier Deschamps, the 2022 World Cup runner-up (22 caps) is paying the price for a difficult 2025-2026 season. Inconsistent performances and several injuries have gradually distanced him from the squad, he who had burst onto the scene early at Stade Rennais before becoming a regular in France call-ups.
