Kevin Holland denies being the Contender Series fighter Dana White says earned $11M in UFC

Kevin Holland has pushed back against widespread speculation that he is the unnamed Contender Series graduate Dana White credited with earning more than $11 million in the UFC, insisting on social media that the description does not apply to him.

White made the disclosure following Tuesday’s Contender Series event, telling reporters the programme had paid out roughly $225 million to fighters over its ten-year run. He highlighted one particular alumnus — never identified by name — who had cleared $11 million without once competing in a world title fight. “Staying active and keeping yourself out there and in everybody’s face is not only good financially, but you have a very limited amount of time to make a lot of money in any sport,” White said. “So staying active is the move.”

The MMA community quickly converged on Holland as the most plausible candidate. The welterweight has fought 29 times since joining the UFC in 2018 — initially after competing on Contender Series without receiving a contract — and has accumulated ten Fight Night bonuses worth $50,000 each, comprising one Fight of the Night and nine Performance of the Night awards. He has also repeatedly accepted bouts on short notice, a practice that typically commands higher pay. His most recently disclosed purse, for a loss to Reiner de Ridder at UFC 311 in California in January 2025, was $250,000 to show.

When the speculation reached him, Holland was direct in shooting it down. “That fighter’s not me,” he wrote on social media. “I’m just now waking up. I’ll tell you all right now, that fighter’s not me. Don’t listen to that shit.” Responding to a graphic circulating online, he added: “Boss talking about someone else wish it was me.”

Whether Holland is being straightforward or simply reluctant to have his finances discussed publicly remains unclear. White’s specific qualifier — that the fighter has never competed in a title fight — does appear to narrow the field considerably. Several Contender Series graduates have gone on to win UFC championships, among them Sean O’Malley, Jamahal Hill, Jack Della Maddalena, and Carlos Ulberg, but White’s description explicitly rules out anyone who has contested a title. Holland has not fought for a belt during his UFC tenure, which keeps him firmly in the frame despite his denial.

For now, White has not clarified who he was referring to, and the identity of the $11-million fighter remains an open question.
