Katoto hat-trick and eight goals: OL Lyonnes crushes Servette, Paris FC falls to Barcelona

OL Lyonnes launched their Women’s Champions League with a dominant display: 8-0 against Servette Geneva on Tuesday, a start to the season that confirms the Rhodanians’ sparkling form.

Marie-Antoinette Katoto was the standout performer of the evening with a hat-trick (28’, 40’, 47’). Melchie Dumornay added a brace (45’+1, 54’), Ines Benyahia sealed it (89’), and two own goals — from Balleste (8’) and Strik (68’) — completed the rout. Lyon had already strung together three heavy wins in the league: 7-1 at Fleury, 7-1 against Paris FC and 8-1 at Le Havre. The machine did not falter in Switzerland.

Paris FC had a far tougher introduction. Facing FC Barcelona, Sandrine Soubeyrand’s players made a promising start thanks to Evelyne Viens, who opened the scoring in the 5th minute. The European champions then took control of the match and cruised to a 5-2 victory.

Kerolin (18’), Clara Serrajordi (28’), Eva Pajor (35’, 70’) and Caroline Graham Hansen (43’) scored Barcelona’s goals. Clara Matéo reduced the deficit to 73’ for Paris FC, but the result is not in doubt.
