Harry Kane received his second Golden Boot on Wednesday at a ceremony held at the Bayern museum within the Allianz Arena in Munich. The English striker finished the 2025-2026 season with 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches, directly contributing to Bayern Munich’s title in the German championship.

This second award comes exactly two years after his first, also won in Bayern colours with the same tally of 36 goals. Kane thus joins a very exclusive circle: he is the twelfth player to win the award at least twice since its creation in the 1967-1968 season. Only Cristiano Ronaldo (four) and Lionel Messi (six) have more.

As a reminder, the European Golden Boot only counts goals scored in the domestic league. A system of coefficients then weights the totals according to the level of competition: the five major leagues — England, Germany, Spain, Italy and France — benefit from the maximum coefficient of 2, while leagues such as Belgium, Portugal or the Netherlands are credited with a coefficient of 1.5.

At the ceremony, Kane was surrounded by his family, Bayern CEO Christian Dreesen, Bundesliga president Marc Lens and former Bayern striker Luca Toni. The English international spoke to praise the collective effort: “I want to thank Bayern, the staff, the coaches and my teammates. I wouldn’t be here without them. Such a trophy is the result of hard work. It was the best season of my career so far.”

Despite media competition from Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland, Kane consistently confirms his status as a top-tier striker in Europe, with two consecutive seasons at the top of the continental goalscoring rankings to show for it.
