Kane provides two assists as Bayern maintains Bundesliga lead
Bayern Munich dominated Mainz (2-1) in Matchday 9 of the Bundesliga, with Harry Kane providing two assists for Kimmich and Karl. Dortmund stays in the Bavarians' shadow after their victory over Elversberg (2-1).
Bayern Munich maintained their Bundesliga leadership on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Mainz in Matchday 9 of the championship, thanks to a decisive Harry Kane who provided two assists.
The English international set up Kimmich and then Karl to give the Bavarians their sixth win in nine matches — three draws completing their record. Bayern thus keep top spot on goal difference, without conceding any additional points to their direct challengers.
Borussia Dortmund, in second place, did not falter either. The Black and Yellows beat Elversberg (2-1) thanks to a brace from Nmecha, staying glued to the Munich side in this head-to-head battle that promises to be tight over the season.
Leipzig, for their part, delivered the performance of the weekend by crushing Augsburg (5-2) to move into third place, three points behind the top two. The podium is thus taking shape clearly after nine matches, with a solid Bayern but not yet untouchable.
