Arsenal extends lead over City with Ødegaard goal against Hull
The Gunners beat Hull City 1-0 at Emirates Stadium on a Martin Ødegaard goal (72nd minute), securing a provisional six-point lead over Manchester City after matchday 10 of the Premier League.
Arsenal consolidated their Premier League leadership by beating Hull City 1-0 at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, during matchday 10 of the championship. Martin Ødegaard scored the only goal of the match in the 72nd minute, giving the Gunners their fifth consecutive league victory.
This victory extends Arsenal’s provisional lead to six points over Manchester City, who travel to Nottingham Forest later in the evening. Brighton, who host Brentford on Sunday, occupy third place eight points behind the Londoners.
Since taking advantage of a dip in form by Manchester City to seize top spot, Mikel Arteta’s side have not relinquished their advantage. Five consecutive opponents have been dispatched, and the defensive solidity of the London club — once again impenetrable against Hull — confirms their status as serious title contenders.
