Kalinn Williams embraces short-notice UFC 332 clash with hyped Roberto Soldic

Kalinn Williams (16-5) will face former two-division KSW champion Roberto Soldic (21-4) at UFC 332 on October 3 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, a matchup Williams says came together only days before it was made public — and one he accepted without hesitation.

Speaking to MMA Junkie, Williams explained that the short turnaround did nothing to dampen his enthusiasm. For him, Soldic’s considerable reputation was a reason to take the fight, not avoid it.

“Fighters fight, man,” Williams said. “It just happened, and I just took advantage of the opportunity. I know he’s dangerous. I know what he’s capable of. I checked him out and that’s why I took the fight. He got all this hype around him — a resume speaks for itself. I go get a guy like that under my belt, now what?”

Williams was equally direct when asked whether Soldic’s standing in the sport gives him pause.

“I fear no man,” he said. “We all bleed the same, we all breathe the same, and we’re just going to find out who wants it more. When all that hype, all them names, all the expectation disappears, it’s just me and you. I know what I’m coming to do.”

Williams arrives on the back of a first-round TKO win over Nikolay Veretennikov in May, a result that underlines the finishing power he will bring into the cage against Soldic.

Soldic, meanwhile, built his name as a two-division champion in KSW before moving to One Championship, where he competed three times before signing with the UFC. His arrival in the promotion has generated significant attention, and Williams is fully aware of what a win would mean for his own trajectory inside the octagon.
