Inter Milan confirm interest in Curtis Jones as Liverpool face summer exodus
Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has publicly confirmed the Serie A club are monitoring Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, 25, who could depart Anfield this summer alongside Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Ibrahima Konate.
Inter Milan have publicly confirmed their interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, with sporting director Piero Ausilio acknowledging the club are actively monitoring the 25-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
“Curtis Jones, we are paying attention to him. We didn’t hide. We understand what the developments will be,” Ausilio said, making Inter’s position clear after reports of behind-the-scenes discussions emerged.
Jones, an academy graduate who has made 228 appearances for Liverpool, could be one of several high-profile departures from Anfield this summer. Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have all been linked with exits, with new head coach Andoni Iraola expected to reshape the squad in his own image.
The story gained further colour when Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa revealed that Jones had already been asking him about life in Italy. “Jones only asked me how life is in Italy,” Chiesa said. “I told him you live very well and the weather is better than Liverpool. Jones is technically very strong, Inter are right to think about him.”
Chiesa himself could be heading back to his homeland this summer. The former Juventus forward has been linked with a move to Como, who have secured a place in next season’s Champions League, though Como president Mirwan Suwarso indicated the asking price is beyond their current budget. “We are looking at many players. The price for those players is a bit higher than the range we have in mind,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.
Chiesa has been candid about his own uncertain future at Liverpool, having struggled for consistent playing time since joining the club. “If I don’t find consistency in the Premier League, I’ll have to look elsewhere,” he said. “I barely played in my first year at Liverpool, and in the last one, very little.”
The Italian added that he plans to speak with Iraola during a pre-season training camp in the United States before deciding his next step. “I have a great relationship with Liverpool,” he said. “Last year they helped me win the Premier League.”
Chiesa also addressed speculation surrounding goalkeeper Alisson Becker, saying he had heard the Brazilian would remain in England, while describing him as “one of the best five goalkeepers in the world.”
With Iraola’s first full pre-season approaching, the scale of Liverpool’s potential summer overhaul is becoming increasingly apparent.
