All 26 fighters on the UFC Fight Night 285 card successfully made weight in Sacramento on 21 August, clearing the way for a five-round middleweight main event between Anthony Hernandez and Gregory Rodrigues.
Hernandez (15-3, 1 NC) steps into the Octagon in his hometown looking to rebuild after a TKO defeat to Sean Strickland earlier this year ended an eight-fight win streak. The 32-year-old American, known as “Fluffy,” weighed in at exactly 186 pounds — one pound above the non-title middleweight limit, which is permitted under the standard one-pound allowance for non-championship bouts.
Rodrigues (19-6) arrives in contrasting form, riding a three-fight winning streak that includes a recent knockout of Brunno Ferreira. The 34-year-old Brazilian, nicknamed “RoboCop,” has won six of his last seven UFC appearances and weighed in at 185 pounds for his second UFC main event.
The co-main event features heavyweight contenders Serghei Spivac (257 lbs) and Vitor Petrino (246 lbs), while former ONE Championship light heavyweight champion Reinier de Ridder (205 lbs) faces Roman Dolidze (206 lbs) in a notable light heavyweight matchup.
