Haaland, Fernandes and Kane among nominees as 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony opens in London
The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony is underway at the London Palladium, with Manchester City's Erling Haaland, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, and bookmakers' favourite Harry Kane all in contention for the men's award.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony is taking place at the London Palladium in Soho on Monday evening, with Harry Kane installed as the bookmakers’ favourite to claim the prestigious individual prize organised by France Football.
Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich and England, heads into the night as the man to beat on the 30-strong men’s shortlist. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is also among the nominees, as is former City midfielder Rodri, who won the award in 2024. Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes completes the Premier League representation in the men’s category.
City have further interest in the ceremony through Ayyoub Bouaddi, who is nominated for the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award.
The event marks the first time the Ballon d’Or has been held in London rather than Paris, with the London Palladium hosting the ceremony from 8pm.
