Oliver Glasner has said goodbye to Crystal Palace in an open letter released by the club, marking the end of a tenure that produced the most successful period in the south London club’s history.

The 51-year-old Austrian managed his final match last Wednesday, with Palace lifting the Conference League trophy in Leipzig. The victory capped a remarkable 12-month run that also included the 2025 FA Cup and the Community Shield — three trophies in a single season — and secured a place in next season’s Europa League.

“What I’m most proud of is being part of a team that we’ve built together and the bond between players, backroom staff, Steve and the board, and most importantly you, the supporters,” Glasner wrote, addressing chairman Steve Parish directly. “Together we believed that there is nothing this club can’t achieve, no opponent we could not defeat.”

Glasner reflected specifically on the Leipzig final as a defining moment for the squad. “It was a game that showed just what this group have become. A team that refuses to give in and backs each other every step of the way,” he wrote. He also offered a message of encouragement ahead of the club’s European campaign next term: “It’ll give me great pride to watch you in the Europa League next season where I know you, the supporters, will give the team every chance of having another successful season.”

The departure comes after a turbulent mid-season stretch in which Glasner’s position appeared under threat. He publicly stated he felt “abandoned” by the club following the January sale of captain Marc Guehi, a period that made his eventual exit — on the highest possible note — all the more striking.

Glasner has been linked with AC Milan as his next destination. At Selhurst Park, Lens manager Pierre Sage is reported to be among the leading candidates to succeed him.
