Frank Lampard joins Rest Is Football on Netflix for 2026 World Cup coverage
Coventry City manager Frank Lampard will appear as a special guest on The Rest Is Football podcast, streaming on Netflix from June 10 alongside Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Joe Cole for the 2026 World Cup.
Frank Lampard will step back into the media spotlight this summer as a special guest on The Rest Is Football podcast, which will stream daily on Netflix throughout the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, beginning June 10.
The Coventry City manager will join hosts Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and regular contributor Joe Cole to analyse the tournament and discuss the biggest stories in football. He is one of several notable guests confirmed for the series, which also includes Harry Maguire, Millie Bright, Patrick Vieira, Romesh Ranganathan and Niall Horan. The show will be filmed at Times Square in New York and will feature match analysis, exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.
Lampard is no stranger to punditry, having worked regularly as a TV analyst after retiring from playing, including stints with the BBC and Amazon. His managerial commitments at Coventry had largely kept him away from broadcast duties — until now.
The 46-year-old has had a remarkable season at the CBS Arena, guiding Coventry to the Championship title and a return to the Premier League for the first time in decades. That achievement has drawn attention from clubs higher up the football ladder, with Lampard’s name linked to vacancies at Crystal Palace and Fulham.
Coventry owner Doug King has been unequivocal about his desire to keep Lampard at the club. Speaking earlier this year, King said: “He’s done a fantastic job, it’s been an incredible 18 months for us and for him. To get out of this league as champions without a parachute payment, from where we’ve come from, is a huge achievement nobody can take away from him.”
Shearer, previewing the Netflix series, said: “The World Cup is as big as it gets, and bringing The Rest Is Football to Netflix during the tournament is a brilliant opportunity to get stuck into the football properly.”
