Flemming's 90th-minute rebound seals Ipswich's comeback win over 10-man Crystal Palace

Substitute Zian Flemming scored his first Ipswich goal in the 90th minute to snatch a 3-2 Premier League victory at Selhurst Park on Saturday, condemning 10-man Crystal Palace to their third defeat in four league games.

Palace had looked set to salvage a point when Jorgen Strand Larsen equalised in the 75th minute, but Flemming forced in the rebound after Leif Davis’s header from Julio Enciso’s cross struck the crossbar, sealing only Ipswich’s second win of the season.

The hosts had made a bright start, taking the lead after 14 minutes when Daichi Kamada found Anan Khalaili in space, and the Israeli’s first goal in English football deflected in off Davis. Ipswich levelled against the run of play in the 23rd minute, Davis swinging in a cross from the left for Emersonn to head home unmarked — his second goal for the club.

The contest turned decisively before half-time when Axel Disasi was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle on Jack Clarke. Ipswich capitalised immediately, going ahead on the stroke of half-time as Dara O’Shea’s cross was flicked on by Emersonn and Davis arrived at the back post to head past Walter Benitez — his second involvement in a goal of the evening.

Palace refused to capitulate despite the numerical disadvantage. Kamada played the ball into the area in the 75th minute for Strand Larsen, who turned away from Issa Diop before shooting across Kjell Scherpen into the bottom corner to make it 2-2.

The equaliser appeared to have earned Oliver Glasner’s side a hard-fought point, but Flemming had other ideas. Davis’s looping header from Enciso’s cross came back off the bar, and the substitute reacted quickest to prod in the rebound and send the travelling supporters into celebration.
