The UEFA Champions League league phase draw for the 2026/27 season will take place on Thursday, August 27, with five Premier League clubs among the 36 sides set to discover their opponents in the revamped competition.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool have all secured spots in Europe’s premier club competition, forming one of the strongest English contingents in recent memory. The draw will determine the path for 29 automatic qualifiers and seven play-off round winners.

The road to the final begins earlier than many may expect. The first qualifying round of the 2026/27 Champions League gets underway on July 7, with the league phase proper kicking off across Matchday 1 on September 8-10 following the August draw.

English representation extends across all three major UEFA competitions next season. Bournemouth, Sunderland and Crystal Palace have qualified for the Europa League, with Palace entering as newly crowned Conference League champions after their success in the 2025/26 campaign. Brighton & Hove Albion will represent the Premier League in the Conference League.

The season will reach its climax on Saturday, June 5, 2027, when the Champions League final is hosted at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid — the same venue that staged the 2019 final — bringing the curtain down on the 72nd edition of the competition.

The Premier League’s own fixture list for the 2026/27 season is also due to be released on Friday, giving clubs and supporters their first look at the domestic schedule that will run alongside the European campaign.
