Figueiredo faces rising Talbott as UFC 332 Salt Lake City card adds four bouts
UFC 332 takes further shape with four new matchups confirmed for the October 3 card at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Headlining the additions is a bantamweight clash between Payton Talbott and former champion Deiveson Figueiredo, who has lost four of his last five fights.
UFC 332 has added four bouts to its October 3 card at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, with the marquee addition pitting rising bantamweight Payton Talbott against former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo. Notably, no title fights have yet been announced for the event, even as championship bouts for UFC 333 are already confirmed.
Talbott (11-1) arrives off the biggest win of his career — a unanimous decision over former two-division champion Henry Cejudo last December. The 27-year-old has won his last two bouts since suffering the only defeat of his career against Raoni Barcelos, and now faces another former UFC gold-holder in Figueiredo.
Figueiredo (25-7-1) enters the fight looking to end a two-fight losing streak. The former 125-pound champion has dropped four of his past five bouts, with his sole win in that stretch coming via split decision against Montel Jackson. A victory over the ascending Talbott would represent a significant career resurgence.
Also added to the card is a heavyweight contest between Johnny Walker (22-10) and Mick Parkin (10-1). Walker is committing to a permanent move up from light heavyweight after a turbulent run at 205 pounds, and both fighters come in off losses.
A striker’s matchup between Ateba Abega Gautier (11-1) and Roman Kopylov (15-5) rounds out the confirmed additions, alongside a bout between Damian Pinas — who competed at UFC 329 — and Andrey Pulyaev.
Previously announced bouts on the card include the return of former middleweight title challenger Marvin Vettori, who faces Ismail Naurdiev, and a retirement bout for veteran Court McGee against Eric Nolan.
UFC 332 lineup as of August 18:
Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Payton Talbott
Mick Parkin vs. Johnny Walker
Ateba Abega Gautier vs. Roman Kopylov
Damian Pinas vs. Andrey Pulyaev
Ismail Naurdiev vs. Marvin Vettori
Alden Coria vs. Imanol Rodriguez
Court McGee vs. Eric Nolan
