Matias Fernandez-Pardo is no longer training with LOSC’s squad. On the eve of Lille’s home match against Paris Saint-Germain in Matchday 2 of Ligue 1, manager Davide Ancelotti confirmed the exclusion of his striker on Thursday in his pre-match press conference.

“We’ve made the decision that he won’t train with the squad until the end of the transfer window,” the Italian coach said. “It’s a decision made in consultation with the club. We’re waiting for his situation to be resolved.”

The situation is now deadlocked: Fernandez-Pardo is demanding to leave, while Lille’s management intends to keep him. Multiple sources reported strong interest from Newcastle earlier in the week, but no agreement has yet been reached between the clubs.

The player’s last competitive appearance dates back to May 17th, when Lille lost to Auxerre (0-2) at the end of the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 season. If no transfer is completed by September 1st, when the market closes, Fernandez-Pardo would find himself in an untenable situation for the rest of the season.

Lille president Olivier Létang will need to make a decision in the coming days. The match against PSG on Friday at 8:45 p.m. will take place without the Argentine striker.
