Felix Nmecha's World Cup form puts Man United and Liverpool on alert at £52m
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha has contributed to three goals for Germany at the World Cup and is reportedly open to a Premier League return, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid all tracking the 25-year-old at around £52m.
Felix Nmecha has emerged as one of the standout midfielders at the World Cup, and his performances for Germany are drawing serious transfer interest — with Manchester United and Liverpool among the clubs monitoring the Borussia Dortmund man ahead of a potential £52m deal this summer.
The 25-year-old has contributed to three goals in the tournament so far, scoring and assisting in Germany’s 7-1 demolition of Curacao before adding another assist to help seal progression to the knockout rounds, including the winning strike against the Ivory Coast.
Nmecha is reportedly open to leaving Dortmund and keen to return to England, where he spent his formative years in the Manchester City academy before departing in 2021. He joined Wolfsburg initially, then earned a £26m move to BVB two years later. Since arriving in Dortmund, he has registered 21 goal contributions across 112 appearances for the Bundesliga club.
Although Nmecha signed a new contract at Dortmund in March, reports suggest his long-term future at the club remains uncertain. TeamTalk reports that those in his camp believe a transfer during the current window is a genuine possibility, with interest expected to remain strong throughout the tournament.
United would face significant competition if they move. Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also said to be tracking Nmecha, making any deal a potentially crowded pursuit.
The midfielder’s brother Lukas also came through the City academy and joined Felix at Wolfsburg before returning to England with Leeds United. Felix could follow a similar path back to the Premier League this summer if a club meets Dortmund’s reported asking price.
