England fans attending the FIFA World Cup in the United States have been hit with stadium drink prices that have drawn widespread anger, with a standard large beer costing £12.50 and a hard seltzer reaching more than £15 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The venue hosted England’s warm-up fixture against New Zealand on 7 June, where the Three Lions won 1-0, but the scoreline was quickly overshadowed by the cost of refreshments. One supporter shared a photograph of the bar menu on social media, revealing an $18 premium large beer — approximately £13.50 — alongside a $20.50 hard seltzer at just around 5% ABV.

The full price list, reported by The Sun, laid bare just how steep stadium concessions have become. An ultra-premium double cocktail was listed at $28.50 (£21.36), while a premium double cocktail came in at $25.25 (£16.67). Frozen cocktails, including a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Margarita, were priced at $19.25 (£14.53). Even non-alcoholic options offered little relief — a non-alcoholic beer cost $10.00 (£7.49), a Gatorade $8.75 (£6.56), and a bottle of Aquafina water $7.50 (£5.62).

Reaction among fans was swift and largely furious. One supporter labelled the pricing “over-priced” and “greedy”, while another noted that the listed figures likely excluded tax and gratuity. “It probably doesn’t include tax and the HUGE tip they will want on top,” one fan wrote. An American supporter added that while inflated stadium pricing was commonplace across US sports, this was “beyond what even I’d expect.”

England’s tournament begins in earnest on 17 June, when Gareth Southgate’s side face Croatia at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — a venue with a capacity of 80,000. Whether drink prices at that stadium will mirror those in Tampa remains to be seen, but based on the Tampa experience, fans travelling to support the Three Lions may want to budget accordingly.
