Doumbia scores brace to propel Brest up Ligue 1 standings
Author of two goals at Stade Océane on Saturday, Kamory Doumbia brings his tally to four goals in three matches and gives Brest a 2-1 victory at Le Havre, who remain stuck on one point.
Kamory Doumbia has established himself as Ligue 1’s surprise top scorer after three matchdays. The Brest winger scored a brace at Stade Océane on Saturday evening, guiding Stade Brestois to a 2-1 success at Le Havre in the 3rd round of the championship.
With four goals in three matches, Doumbia stands alone at the top of the scoring chart at this stage of the season. His two finishes were enough to overturn a Le Havre side that had opened the scoring, before finishing with ten men following Mwanga’s expulsion just before the break.
Thanks to this victory, Brest climbs provisionally to fourth place in the standings with five points. Le Havre, meanwhile, remains in serious difficulty with just one point on the board after three matches.
Le Havre’s starting XI: Mpasi — Seko, Mwanga, Touba — Kristensen, Ebonog, Richardson, Pembélé — Ndiaye, Maja — Samatta.
Brest’s starting XI: Selvik — Lala, Lloris, Le Guen, Locko — Chotard, Magnetti — Baldé, Doumbia, Mboup — Ajorque.
The match took place on 5 September 2026 at 20:45 at Stade Océane, under the direction of referee Marc Bollengier.
