Donnarumma agent says Man City squad 'calm' despite 115-case guilty verdicts
Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent Enzo Raiola says the Manchester City goalkeeper has received direct reassurances from the club following their guilty verdicts in the 115-case, with the squad preparing for upcoming fixtures against Liverpool and PSG.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has been personally reassured by Manchester City’s hierarchy that ‘sporting justice will take its course’ following the club’s guilty verdicts in the Premier League’s 115-case, according to his agent Enzo Raiola.
The Italian goalkeeper, who joined City from Paris Saint-Germain last season, was due to meet his teammates on Thursday for the first time since the verdicts were confirmed. Raiola told Radio Napoli Centrale that the situation has not unsettled Donnarumma or those around him.
“Will the Manchester City chaos change anything? No, nothing will change for us or for Gigio,” Raiola said. “News comes out periodically. The club has spoken with Gigio and everyone is calm. Now there are important games against Liverpool and PSG, then sporting justice will take its course. But Gigio has had reassurances from Manchester City.”
Manager Enzo Maresca is scheduled to hold a press conference on Friday ahead of the Liverpool fixture, where he is expected to face questions about the verdicts and their effect on the dressing room. Maresca is understood to be leaning on the club’s leadership group to maintain focus during a turbulent period.
Donnarumma has been named among that leadership group alongside Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Marc Guehi. Dias assumed the captaincy following Bernardo Silva’s departure in the summer, with the four players now sharing responsibility for setting the tone in the squad.
The guilty verdicts carry potentially serious consequences for the club and its players if upheld, though the precise sanctions remain to be determined as the process continues.
