Manchester United have signed a record-breaking deal with Amazon for an All or Nothing documentary following Michael Carrick’s team across the 2026-27 season, with the club claiming the agreement is the highest fee ever paid for a comparable sports documentary — a figure believed to exceed £10m.

The Prime Video production will begin filming during pre-season and will cover not only the men’s first team but also United’s women’s and academy sides. The finished series is scheduled for release in the summer of 2027.

The financial terms are significant for a club carrying considerable debt. United owe more than £1bn and recently took out a $550m bond at an elevated interest rate, making the documentary fee a meaningful contribution to their balance sheet.

The deal also marks a notable cultural shift at Old Trafford. United have historically been reluctant to grant outside access of this kind, and talks about a similar project covering the past season collapsed in part because former head coach Ruben Amorim was opposed to the idea. Amorim has since been replaced by Carrick, whose early tenure has been characterised by a more harmonious relationship with the playing squad — a dynamic that may benefit the club’s image on screen, even if it reduces the prospect of behind-the-scenes drama.
