Casemiro, Sancho and Malacia among six players leaving Manchester United as contracts expire
Manchester United officially part ways with six players on June 30 as their contracts expire. Casemiro ends a four-year spell at Old Trafford and is set to join Inter Miami, while Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia also depart.
Manchester United bid farewell to six players on June 30 as a wave of contract expirations reshapes the squad, with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, left-back Tyrell Malacia and winger Jadon Sancho the most prominent departures from Old Trafford.
Casemiro, 34, leaves after four years and 160 appearances, during which he won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup and became a firm fan favourite. United confirmed in January that he would not be offered a new deal, and he is now set to join Inter Miami on a free transfer.
Malacia’s time at the club was defined by injury misfortune. The Dutch left-back managed only three substitute appearances last season and has been training abroad this month to maintain his fitness while weighing up his next move.
Sancho’s departure draws a line under one of the more turbulent chapters in recent United history. The winger joined for £73 million but played just 83 games across five years, spending the last two-and-a-half of them out on loan — first back at Borussia Dortmund, then at Chelsea and Aston Villa. Dortmund are reported to be interested in signing him again on a permanent basis.
Three academy players also leave the club today: Sonny Aljofree, James Bailey and Malachi Sharpe all see their contracts come to an end.
