Yamal's sixth-minute golazo stretches Spain's unbeaten run to 41 games
Lamine Yamal curled a stunning left-footed effort into the top corner just six minutes in as Spain beat Czechia in the Nations League, extending their unbeaten streak to 41 matches.
Lamine Yamal fired Spain ahead with a trademark curling finish in the sixth minute against Czechia on Saturday, as the world champions stretched their unbeaten run to 41 games in UEFA Nations League action.
The 17-year-old cut inside from the right and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot into the top-left corner, leaving goalkeeper Antonín Kinský with no chance. Spain coach Luis de la Fuente could only shake his head in admiration on the touchline.
The goal continued a remarkable pattern of early strikes from Yamal. He had opened the scoring inside two minutes against Croatia in a 4-1 win on Tuesday, and repeated the trick with a second-minute goal away to England in a 3-2 victory on 26 September.
Spain’s 41-match unbeaten streak underlines their status as the dominant force in international football following their triumph at this summer’s European Championship — a run that now encompasses Nations League, World Cup qualifying, and tournament football across multiple cycles.
Yamal, still only 19, is also in outstanding form at club level for defending La Liga champions Barcelona, cementing his position as one of the leading Ballon d’Or contenders heading into the awards season.
