Carabao Cup fourth round draw: date, time and all 16 teams in the pot
The Carabao Cup fourth round draw takes place on Wednesday, September 16, immediately after Manchester United vs Brighton concludes at around 10.15pm. Bournemouth, Bradford City, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Sunderland are already confirmed in the hat.
The Carabao Cup fourth round draw is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, with the balls drawn immediately after Manchester United’s third-round tie against Brighton wraps up — expected at around 10.15pm.
Who is already in the hat
Because the third round is split across two midweek windows, six clubs have already secured their place in the fourth round: Bournemouth, Bradford City, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Sunderland. The remaining ten spots will be filled by the results of the outstanding third-round fixtures.
The Manchester City complication
One third-round match will not be settled before the draw takes place. Manchester City and Norwich are due to meet at the Etihad on Thursday evening — the night after the draw. To account for this, the two clubs will share a single ball number in Wednesday’s draw, with their eventual opponent confirmed once that fixture is played.
When will the fourth round be played
Fourth round fixtures are scheduled for the week commencing October 26.
