Oliver Glasner will depart Crystal Palace following tonight’s UEFA Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano on May 27, bringing to a close a two-year tenure that delivered the club’s FA Cup triumph. The Austrian confirmed he is stepping down to seek a fresh challenge, leaving the Eagles in need of a new head coach ahead of next season.

Jose Bordalas has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed him. The 62-year-old Spaniard has been in charge of Getafe since 2023 and guided the club to seventh in La Liga this season, earning a Conference League berth in the process.

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola is the next name in contention. The Basque coach previously announced he would leave the Cherries at the end of his contract, signing off with a sixth-placed Premier League finish and a Europa League qualification spot.

Filipe Luis, the former Atletico Madrid and Chelsea left-back, is also in the frame after an impressive start to his managerial career. He won the 2025 Copa Libertadores with Flamengo before parting ways with the Brazilian club in March.

Villarreal’s Marcelino Toral, who steered his side to third in La Liga this season, is another option being considered. The 60-year-old is well regarded for his defensive organisation and counter-attacking approach.

Thomas Frank, who left Tottenham Hotspur earlier this year, brings substantial Premier League experience to the table having previously earned widespread praise for his work at Brentford. Lens head coach Pierre Sage, named Ligue 1 Manager of the Year after winning the Coupe de France, also features among the candidates.

Further down the list, Robbie Keane — who recently left Hungarian side Ferencvaros — is mentioned as a longer-shot option, while Frank Lampard rounds out the leading group of contenders. Lampard won the Championship with Coventry City this season to secure promotion, adding to his previous top-flight experience at Chelsea and Everton.
