Belloumi's father dreams of Real Madrid for his son after Algeria debut

Bachir Belloumi received his first call-up to the Algeria national team for September’s gathering, a reward for a convincing start to the season with Hull City in the Championship: two goals and two assists across all competitions.

His father, Lakhdar Belloumi — 100 caps and 28 goals with the Fennecs — makes no secret of his pride. « Mohamed Bachir’s performances with Hull City allowed him to enter the Algeria team through the front door. God willing, he will do honour to Algeria in the coming international fixtures and maintain the Belloumi name at the top of Arab and world football, » the Algeria legend told Winwin media.

The Fennecs legend sees even further ahead for his 24-year-old son. Asked about a possible transfer, he was clear: « All his concentration is currently focused on Hull City. But if we receive a very good offer, we will not close the door to a departure, with all the respect we have for Hull City. » He then cited the clubs he believes are worthy of the winger’s talent: « With the level he has, he deserves to play for a more prestigious club that fights for national and continental titles, like FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille or Manchester City. »

Under contract with Hull City until June 2029, Bachir Belloumi is currently valued at €6 million according to Transfermarkt. A figure that could change quickly if the winger maintains his level of play throughout the season.
