Belgium-France in Nations League: Van Bommel drops Theate, Sabbe and Fofana
For Belgium's second Nations League match against France on Monday (20:45), Belgian manager Mark van Bommel has left three players out of his squad: Arthur Theate, Kyriani Sabbe and Malick Fofana, alongside injured players Trossard and Penders.
Mark van Bommel has made his cuts from his expanded 28-player squad before hosting France at the King Baudouin Stadium on Monday evening: Arthur Theate, Kyriani Sabbe and Malick Fofana will not be included in the matchday squad, joining injured players Leandro Trossard and Mike Penders in the stands. Koni De Winter takes advantage of these absences to join the final squad.
Sabbe and Fofana had already been left out for the trip to Italy on Friday, where the Red Devils won 0-2. Theate, meanwhile, was left on the bench in Rome after starting in previous fixtures.
On the other side, Zinedine Zidane is taking charge of his second match as France manager following the narrow victory in Turkey (0-1). “Zizou” has announced several changes to his starting eleven compared to that first success.
Probable lineups
Belgium: Lammens – Castagne, Ngoy, Debast, De Cuyper – Tielemans, Lavia – Lukebakio, De Bruyne, Moreira – De Ketelaere.
France: Maignan – Koundé, Upamecano, Lacroix, Truffert – Cherki, Camavinga, Rabiot – Olise, Doué, Barcola.
