BBC and ITV name their World Cup 2026 presenter, pundit and commentator line-ups

BBC Sport and ITV Sport have confirmed their broadcast teams for the 2026 World Cup across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Rooney, Shearer and Hart headline the BBC, while Keane, Neville, Vieira and Postecoglou join ITV's roster.

BBC Sport and ITV Sport have revealed the full presenter, pundit and commentator line-ups they will deploy across the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with a combined total of 104 matches to cover this summer.

BBC Sport will broadcast 54 games from the tournament, fielding a punditry roster that includes Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer, Joe Hart, Micah Richards and Danny Murphy. Former Scotland captain Scott Brown, ex-England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, and World Cup-winning striker Olivier Giroud are among the international additions, alongside women’s football figures Steph Houghton and Ellen White. Thomas Frank, who recently left Brentford, also features. On commentary, Guy Mowbray, Steve Wilson, Steve Bower and Jonathan Pearce lead the BBC’s team, with Shearer and Murphy doubling up as co-commentators. Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott will present.

ITV Sport, which will cover 29 group stage matches from its Brooklyn studio, has assembled a panel anchored by Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Patrick Vieira. Ange Postecoglou — who departed Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the Premier League season — joins as a pundit alongside former Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, United States women’s national team coach Emma Hayes and ex-Scotland striker Duncan Ferguson. Sam Matterface and Jon Champion head ITV’s commentary team, with Lee Dixon and Ally McCoist among the co-commentators. Mark Pougatch and Laura Woods will present, with Pougatch on hosting duties for England’s opening group game against Croatia.

The tournament runs across all three host nations with 104 matches in total, making it the largest men’s World Cup in history following the expansion to 48 teams.
