Bayern Munich sets impossible price for Olise and shuts door on PSG
Targeted by PSG as a summer priority, Michael Olise will not be sold, according to a Bayern Munich board member: "Even at 500 million euros, he will not leave."
A Bayern Munich board member has closed the door on any transfer of Michael Olise this summer, responding to Paris’s ambitions: “Olise has no price, even at 500 million euros he will not leave.” A statement that follows an initial warning from a Bavarian executive, who stated earlier this week to L’Équipe that the international winger would not leave Munich “even for 200 million euros”.
According to information from Olivier Ménard of L’Équipe du Soir, PSG would have made Olise its top target for the summer transfer window, even if it meant parting with Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos. But the player’s profile makes the operation particularly complex: under contract until June 2029, the 24-year-old winger, valued at 150 million euros on Transfermarkt, has established himself as one of the most decisive players in the Bundesliga over the past two seasons.
The sporting rivalry between the two clubs further complicates discussions. Paris and Munich faced each other in the Ligue des Champions semi-final this season, confirming their status as direct competitors at the top of European football — a context that hardly predisposes Bayern to strengthen its opponent.
PSG is not alone in the race. Real Madrid, recently rebuffed by Atlético in its attempt to sign Julián Álvarez, could also position itself for the former Crystal Palace prospect. Competition from the Merengues would only add to an already astronomical bill.
For the Paris club, the financial bar is dizzying. Since QSI’s arrival, PSG has never spent more than 222 million euros on a single player — the amount paid to FC Barcelona for Neymar in 2017, a world record at the time. That same year, the club also secured the transfer of Kylian Mbappé from Monaco for 180 million euros. Reaching or even exceeding these thresholds for Olise would require an unprecedented investment in the club’s history.
