Bayern Munich set €222m asking price for Olise if Frenchman requests departure

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Bayern Munich do not wish to sell Michael Olise this summer, but would allow the 24-year-old winger to leave for €222 million — the record transfer fee matching Neymar's 2017 move to PSG — if the player himself expressed a desire to quit the club.

Bayern Munich have set the asking price for a potential departure of Michael Olise at €222 million, equivalent to the record transfer fee of Neymar’s move to PSG in 2017, according to Spanish newspaper AS. The Bavarian executives do not wish to sell the French international winger, but would not stand in his way if he were to formally request to leave.

Olise, 24, has been in Real Madrid’s sights for several days. Florentino Perez would reportedly be prepared to table a massive offer to recruit the player during this summer’s transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain are also cited among interested clubs, according to AS.

The timing of the matter is directly linked to the 2026 World Cup. Olise just delivered a remarkable second-half performance in France’s victory over Senegal (3-1) on Tuesday evening, marking the start of Les Bleus’ tournament campaign. His stock on the transfer market has only risen as a result.

According to the Madrid media outlet, no decision should come before the end of the World Cup. Michael Olise therefore holds his future in his own hands: as long as he does not request to leave, Bayern will not open negotiations. Should that change, Real Madrid and PSG now know the floor price they will have to meet to prise him away from the German champions.
