Arsenal have submitted a formal bid to sign Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, with a deal valued at between £10 million and £15 million currently under negotiation, according to reports from football.london and journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Monga, who turns 17 on 10 July, made his Leicester debut in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season at just 15 years, eight months and 28 days old — coming off the bench in a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United on 7 April 2025. That made him the second-youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League, a record since pushed to third by Arsenal’s own Max Dowman.

The teenager went on to make 30 appearances across all competitions in the 2024/25 campaign and wrote himself into the record books as the Championship’s youngest-ever goalscorer when he netted against Preston North End in August. He has also been in fine form for England’s U18 side, scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory over Greece U19s and adding another in a 6-1 thrashing of Cyprus.

Monga signed an academy scholarship with Leicester upon turning 16, a deal that converts to a professional contract on his 17th birthday this summer. While Arsenal and Leicester are working towards agreeing a fee, a tribunal remains a possibility if the two clubs cannot settle on a fair valuation for the youngster.

Leicester had successfully fended off interest in Monga last summer despite their relegation from the Premier League. Reports from Leicestershire Live indicate there was also internal consideration of whether a loan spell in League One might better serve his development than another year in academy football, though a permanent transfer now appears the more likely outcome.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shown a clear commitment to integrating young talent. Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman have both broken into first-team contention from the academy, while William Saliba — signed at 18 — was a cornerstone of the club’s title-winning side. The Gunners have also already agreed a deal to bring in Victor Ozhianvuna, signalling an active summer of recruitment at the younger end of the squad.
